Real Mirror

"A little sincerity is a dangerous thing, and a great deal of it is absolutely fatal.”

Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)

I was fascinated by the fact that people don't see us how we see ourselves in mirrors. The only way to get a real image of ourselves is reflecting our reflected image, by using a real mirror. I constructed one and invited my classmates to try it. Some of them were shocked, others could not really understand what was going on. You can click here to see how it works.

I decided to observe and photograph the mirror as a sculptural object in nature, thinking about it's fascinating history, appreciating the lights and shadows that were being reflected, and thinking about the concept of space and infinity.
